I wasn't too sure how I felt about the American Idiot musical. The couple performances that I had seen on award shows and the like, didn't "WOW" me, but after seeing this performance last night on the Tony Awards, I think I am convinced that it would be a pretty amazing experience to see the show first hand. Green Day actually being there probably had a lot to do with it, but I loved the background vocals and the boy at the beginning. Totally and completely gave me chills. So good!
Here is the video. Hopefully it won't be removed or anything.
Last night was also the Season 3 premiere of True Blood. How excited was I for this? So excited in fact, that I wore my Bon Temps Football shirt all day, kept talking about how much I was looking forward to it and made sure I had the channel on 20 minutes beforehand so I wouldn't miss anything. It started, Jeff and I were enjoying it and then the cable got all wonky. The volume kept going out and the picture would get all digital and distorted. It would stop for a few minutes and then do it again (at the best parts of course. coughERICcough). I got an idea of what the episode was about, but missed most of the dialogue. SO INFURIATING. ALL day I was looking forward to it. ALL day. They were showing a replay of it at 11pm, so I read for an hour and decided to try and watch it again. 20 minutes into it, it started doing it again, only worse this time. It completely froze (on an Eric part, and that was kind of okay with me) so I turned it off and went to bed angry. Damn you, BrightHouse Cable! Jeff wrote a "stern" email to them. We'll see if they respond. Don't mess with my True Blood watching. you pickin' up, what i'm puttin down, BrightHouse people?? Hopefully I will get to see an uninterrupted replay of it. What I saw of the preview for next week, it looks awesome and if it messes up again, I will go down to BrightHouse and show them how angry I am. Gah!
two things:
ReplyDelete1. I got stacy the American Idiot broadway original cast recording. It's good.
2. That's why you should get AT&T Uverse.
I will look into the At&tUverse right now!
ReplyDeleteI think we should have Bon Temps Sundays with friends and snacks. I think it would be fun. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteI don't know Sarah. Something about Green Day and the Tony's doesn't seem right for me. Kind of like if the Ramones or the Pistols had played the Lawrence Welk Show. I'm not a Green Day hater, not anymore anyway, but aren't they becoming a little over exposed? Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteAnd no, Bright House never responded to my stern email. Maybe I was too much of a jerk. Nah! That's impossible. I can never be too much of a jerk. I'm a wonderful human being.
Haha, you are a fantastic human being!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jeff on this, but I think I would be more classified as a "Green Day Hater" unfortunately/fortunately (depending on how some of you look at it.) But I saw this performance and I was all for it in the beginning and part of the actual Green Day performance but then it just went on and on and on...and on. They are just too overexposed and I just don't think they mix well with Broadway.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Jeff...its time to fall into the U-verse!!! Its the future!!
