Well, this is new...

I’m giving in to peer pressure (to the 3 whole people who have been telling me to do this) and attempting to start my own blog. Let’s see how this pans out, shall we?

I have been saying that my very first post would be about the LOST finale. Why? Well, let me tell you… Because I have had to explain the ending to SO many people in the last week. I know everyone has their own take on it and that’s the beauty of the story they created, but overall, I think quite a few people have come to the wrong “generalization” of what the series was about.

****BEWARE! LOST SPOILERS BELOW. IF YOU AT ANY TIME PLAN ON WATCHING THIS PHENOMENAL SERIES, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER.****

There is my spoiler warning, for you!

Again, this is just my take, but It seems the people who enjoyed the finale and watched the series from beginning to end (like myself) and the people who were total nerds about it (like myself and my brother), share the same “idea” of what the series came down to…

First and foremost, THEY WERE NOT ALL DEAD THE WHOLE TIME. The show, as a whole, was NOT about them being in purgatory the whole time. They did not die when Oceanic 815 crashed. Everything that happened on the island happened and mattered. Christian did a pretty amazing job of explaining all of that at the end.

“I’m real, you’re real. Everything that has ever happened to you is real. All the people in the church, they’re all real too. Everyone dies sometime”

So yeah, in the end, they were all dead in the sense that they all died eventually. Because everyone dies eventually. The sideways world was their “purgatory” of sorts because it was a place they created together. It showed that the relationships they formed with each other were the most important things to them. Their “happy place”, if you will.

As far as the island mysteries and all the questions that didn’t get answered, I have no explanation for any of that. While I have always been intrigued by the island and the weirdness of it all, it was never what was most important to me. I always cared about the characters and what happened to them and they resolved their stories perfectly. Yes, I said perfectly. I loved it. A lot.

So, there you have it. My take on The End.

On a completely unrelated note… Please, please do not pay money to go see the new Karate Kid movie. Please??
